The management of the Jerusalem International Film Festival, in cooperation with the Youth Vision Association, stated the participation of 28 long and short feature scenarios in the scenario competition of the sixth session of the Jerusalem International Film Festival, which will start from 29/11/2021 to 06/12/2021.
Dr. Ezzedine Shalah, the founder and president of the festival, stated that 8 long scenarios and 20 short scenarios were chosen from 9 countries, including Egypt, Algeria, Syria, Jordan, Sultanate of Oman, Scotland, Iraq, the Emirates and Palestine. Moreover, some scenarios have been ruled out because of the breach of the competition’s conditions, which include the interaction with the Palestinian cause directly or indirectly.
Dr. Shalah explained that this is the second session of the Special Scenario Competition, in which the number of participating scenarios has nearly doubled, which means that the popularity of the festival increases rapidly. Besides, this competition contributes to creating an incentive for individuals to write scenarios related to the Palestinian cause.
Dr. Shalah mentioned that the long scenarios involved the following: “Behind the Homeland Lines”, “Europe’s Refugees”, “The Price of Return”, “Saif Allah Al-Ajami”, “Hebron again”, “Mosha”, “Nancy, Gharam and Jehad” and “A Dwarf from Israel”.
Moreover, the short scenarios participating in this session involved the following: “Al-Majdal Asks”, “I Don’t Like Pomegranate Juice”, “A Bird that Has Appeared”, “What Is the Meaning of Refugees”, “A Sperm Rebellion”, “A Guest at UNRWA”, “A Meeting”, “Wounding Time”, “And the Good News of Those Who are Patient”, “Bullets”, “The Crying of Stone”, “Eid Day”, “Ezz”, “Bushra”, “Between Death and Death”, “Dream”, “The Forbidden Dream”, “The Virgin of Jahiliya”, “Challenge” and “Alienation”.
Finally, the special scenario committee will be announced soon to choose the best long scenario to win the Golden Olive Branch Prize, as well as the Golden Olive Branch Prize for the best short scenario will be announced on the day of the closing ceremony on 06/12/2021 in Gaza City.
